Test Tubes
Glass test tubes are an essential part of any lab as they are part of the perfect method to mix, stir or heat samples. They are widely used by chemists and lab technicians to handle chemicals, especially for qualitative experiments and assays. Their spherical bottom and vertical sides reduce mass loss when pouring, make them easier to wash out, and allow convenient monitoring of the insides. The long, narrow neck slows down the spreading of vapours and gases to the environment. Test tubes are made from borosilicate high temperature glass so they can be used to heat samples over an open flame.
Test tubes are low cost and are available in a variety of types including rimmed, culture and capillary. For added strength, heavy wall centrifuge tubes are also available at this link should high speed mixing be required.
All general test tubes are held in stock so large volumes can be available within short periods of time.
For safe and easy storage of test tubes containing liquids or powders, please view our large range of test tube racks.
